Ghanaian reggae and dancehall artist Shatta Wale recently opened up about lingering feelings for his ex-girlfriend, Shatta Michy, in a conversation on the Rants, Bants, and Confessions podcast, released on October 31, 2024. During the discussion, Shatta Wale revealed that he tried his best to care for the actress, but felt his efforts went unappreciated. Reflecting on their relationship, which lasted over five years, he shared that he didn’t want things to end negatively but remains unsure about the future between them.
“Shatta Michy should know I love her deeply, and I didn’t want to leave. But she didn’t appreciate all that I did for her. I don’t want to dive too deep into it because it’s a painful memory,” he said. The On God singer also admitted that the breakup left him heartbroken. “Let’s just leave it there, but she also broke my heart,” he added.
Speaking with Efia Odo, Ama Burland, and Gisela Amponsah on the latest episode of the podcast, Shatta Wale described Maali as his “perfect match,” crediting her for having a positive impact on his life.
Although Maali was initially unsure about his intentions, Shatta Wale shared that she now fully believes in his love. The Killa Gi hitmaker praised her ability to hold meaningful conversations and mentioned that she sometimes even apologizes when they haven’t had a chance to communicate.
