American entertainer Rubi Rose stirred up controversy on social media in Ghana following her recent visit to the Jubilee House, the country’s presidential office.
The rapper, video vixen, and OnlyFans creator arrived in Ghana on October 31, 2024, as a special guest for a Halloween event in Accra. During her visit, Rose was given a tour of the Jubilee House, where she met Nadia Adongo Musah, Deputy Director of Diaspora Affairs.
Photos from Rose’s visit quickly spread online, sparking frustration among Ghanaians who questioned why someone with her background was granted access to such an important site.
Social media users voiced their disapproval. One user, @fanti_boy, asked, “Is this really Kwame Nkrumah’s Ghana?” while @_blacksnow09 noted, “Foreigners have more access to the presidential residence than citizens.” Other comments followed, including @CopsonClaude saying, “The Jubilee House is now Oasis Lounge,” and @PositiveAt59011 asking, “Is it a hotel for Americans?” @DanQuaye22 added, “They told citizens the Flagstaff House is a security zone, but look who has easy access.”
This incident recalls a similar situation in January 2023, when American rapper Meek Mill filmed a music video at the Jubilee House during his first visit to Ghana, sparking public backlash. Meek Mill later apologized, asking for forgiveness from Ghanaians.
