“I’m not married! I only acted as a husband for someone,” Okomfo Kolege responds to critics.

"I'm not married! I only acted as a husband for someone," Okomfo Kolege responds to critics.

Kumawood actor Okomfo Kolege has addressed the criticism sparked by viral posts suggesting he had remarried. Speaking on Kwaku Manu TV on November 15, 2024, Kolege clarified the circumstances surrounding the photos that led to the speculation.

He explained that he had not remarried but was merely standing in for someone else, though he chose not to disclose their identity. “I’ve remained silent about this, but I’d appreciate it if the person who posted that picture from a fake account could confirm whether or not I’m married. I’ve acted as a husband for some relatives abroad, and I see nothing wrong with that,” he stated.

Kolege also questioned the public’s reaction, saying, “Even if the photo was genuine and I had remarried, what’s wrong with that? My wife passed away two years ago. Would Ghanaians rather I live in sin than settle down?”

Reflecting on his loss, Kolege shared the deep emotional toll of his wife’s passing. “No one felt the pain and trauma of losing my wife more than I did. Moving from Kumasi to Accra was my way of coping. That’s why I’m asking the person who shared the photo to clarify whether it was me standing in for someone or actually getting married.”

The rumors began on October 20, 2024, after photos and videos of Kolege surfaced online, suggesting he had remarried in a private ceremony. His late wife, Millicent Oteng, tragically passed away during childbirth on November 17, 2022.
