Ghanaian-American comedian and actor Michael Blackson has expressed confidence in Ghana’s future after the successful presidential inauguration on January 7, 2025. The event, held at Black Star Square, was attended by several dignitaries and leaders from across the Commonwealth.
Dressed in a stylish luxury jacket, white trousers, and designer sunglasses, Blackson made a striking appearance at the historic occasion. He commended the presidents of Kenya, Gambia, Nigeria, Namibia, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Africa, and Togo for their presence, emphasizing their dedication to strengthening democracy and international cooperation.
In a widely shared video from the ceremony, Blackson reflected on the significance of the event, praising the unity among African leaders. He humorously noted, “I’m excited about the future of Ghana . Inauguration Day was amazing, seeing so many great leaders from my continent, including the president of my beloved Liberia, the new strong leader of Burkina Faso , the young president of Senegal , and the 290-year-old Nigerian president.”
Beyond his public engagements, Michael Blackson remains committed to education in Ghana. He has made headlines for his philanthropic work, particularly his efforts to provide free schooling for underprivileged children. His Michael Blackson Academy, located in Agona Nsaba in the Central Region, offers free education, covering tuition, uniforms, and other essential expenses. Since its opening in 2022, the school has helped bridge the educational gap for children in underserved communities.
Blackson has also expressed plans to expand his free education initiative across Ghana and has called on organizations and individuals to support similar projects. He continues to advocate for better access to education, emphasizing its role in shaping the country’s future.
